Songs for a New World - PREVIEW

These are the stories and characters of today, the Songs for a New World. Each song follows a different character, a different person on the edge of a decision. Whether it is reflecting on a new pregnancy or fighting in the American revolution, five actors will tell a whole host of stories through the beautiful and complex Jason Robert Brown score. We talk to Jessi (Director) and George (Musical Director) about the show.

Meet Leo and Vera

In David Morley’s play ‘A Cold Supper Behind Harrods’, two of the four characters - Leo Marks and Vera Atkins were real people - secret agents working in Special Operations Executive during WW2. Martin Woodruff and Trish Peroni, actors playing these characters, have delved into their past and tell us something about their role during the war and what it’s like to portray someone who existed not so long ago.

Set in June 1997, David Morley's play deals with the intertwining stories of three former special forces operatives from World War II as they prepare to give a televised tribute to their friend Patricia, a fourth operative who unfortunately met an untimely death during the war.
